Pickled Pepper Books is a specialist children’s bookshop and events space in Crouch End, North London.
In the week we host preschool activities and after school run Young Illustrators and a lively book group. Most weekends you can meet an author or illustrator, experience some theatre or come along to a story time.

Our Story
Pickled Pepper Books was established by parents Steven Pryse and Urmi Merchant in 2012, providing a family friendly environment in which to experience the tactile nature of choosing books for and with kids.
Urmi is currently managing the shop programming children's book based events, theatre, workshops and storytimes.
Steven manages all school supply. Please see our schools page for more information.
Ruth Woodward, former assitant headteacher, is our School Events Coordinator working with London schools to deliver bespoke author visits.
Naina, Shanti, Calypso, Opal and Stella are our weekend/casual booksellers, running storytimes and offering the best recommendations for you!

Current Vacancies:
Freelance Baby Discovery Session Leader, Term Time only
We are seeking an experienced freelance baby discovery class leader to run our sensory classes for babies aged 3-12 months, every Wednesday morning, in our North London location. You will have an understanding of child development from the ages of 3months to 5years and have demonstratable experience of working with this age group. This is a term time only position.

School Events Coordinator P/T, Term Time only
We are seeking proactive, organised and passionate children's booksellers. You will be liaising with publishers to coordinate school events with authors and illustrators in London Boroughs and some parts of Herts and Essex. You must have an understanding of schools, with either experience in them or in children's bookselling. Pickled Pepper Books is open to term time only positions for this role.

Volunteer Blogger/Vlogger
Do you love children's books? Can you write engaging copy? Do you want free proof books? If the answer is yes to all of these get in touch as we are looking for a group of people to start blogging/vlogging about books we love! Hopefully you will love them too.
