Hey book readers! Half term is here and so is Halloween 😛 Have you got your costume sorted? Carved your pumpkin? Brought enough sweets for those trick or treaters?
This week’s title for Book Group was The School For Good And Evil by Soman Chainani. It certainly kept the chatter flowing in book group with the debate of which school they would rather attend…The school of evil or The school of good 😛 which one would you choose?
The plot follows two girls Sophie and Agatha who get stolen away from their families, forced to go to either The school of Good or The school of Evil. The book is full of twist and turns while making you rethink what you once thought about witches and princesses. It also contains cute illustrations throughout. Our book group gave it on average a 3/5!
This week our book groupers chose Witchworld by Emma Fischel which is a fabulous book to end with on Half Term since it is nearly Halloween! And we actually have Emma visiting the shop next Thursday (30th October) at 2pm where she will be signing books. There will be spider crafting, apple bobbing, cupcakes, along with some weird Halloween drinks to try and we even have a signed Chris Riddell print up for grabs!
Hope you can all make it to our Halloween party! We can’t wait to see all the amazing costumes!
Our next book group meet will be on Monday 3rd November at 4.15-5.15pm!
